XSitePro - Designing and Changing XSitePro
Templates
Create a New XSitePro Template
A common problem with
many website design packages is finding or designing a template
that is relevant for your new website. XSitePro has
addressed this issue with a powerful array of built in
templates (over 300 including the free bonus
pack).
XSitePro2 includes
an impressive number of choices that literally cater for
every need or industry. But if the extensive choice of
XSitePro templates doesn’t satisfy your needs, then there is
always the option of designing your
own.

At first this may sound
a little intimidating, but like all the features that have been
built into XSitePro, designing or modifying your own unique
template is a very straightforward and simple
exercise.
To design or modify
your own XSitePro2 template all you need to do is carry out the
following steps.
Step 1 - As with any
task, before you begin, you should plan out what you want the
basic layout of your XSitePro template to look like. Do
you want a menu on the left, right, top or bottom of your XSite
Pro template?
What kind of
story, or theme do you want your graphics to convey? Do you
even need graphics to achieve the results you are hoping
for? XSitePro2 has an interesting help window known as a
Pop-Up “Panels Illustration” that will guide you to as to the
main elements of your XSitePro template project. The
Pop-Up “Panels Illustration” is simply a graphical guide that
assists you with the overall layout of your XSitePro
template.
Step 2 -
Having planned how you want your XSitePro2 template to look and
having decided on the proportions of the layout of your
XSitePro template you set out your mock page in a graphic
design package (there are a large number of very easy to use
programs available for free on the net).
Step 3 -
Having set out your mock page in your graphics program, you
will then simply overlay the page layout you came up with in
the first Step detailed above. To assist you with keeping
your design looking professional, you would paste-sized
rectangles onto your design as ‘layers’ or drag rulers/guides
onto your design as preferred
Step 4 - To
take this brand new XSitePro template into XSitePro, you are
going to chop the page into the respective component parts that
make up your web page.
Step 5 - To get your newly
created web page into XSitePro, you select the newly created
graphic files as backgrounds of the different panels in a
XSitePro2 template. This process only takes a couple of
minutes to complete as you only have a small number of pieces
to layout in XSitePro.
Step 6 - Save as a fully
customized XSitePro template that you can use again and again
when you need it. To modify it slightly and change some
coloring is simple, so you can create multiple websites from
your own XSitePro template that all carry a consistent and
professional them.
Alternatively, you could modify
an existing XSitePro template by changing (or deleting) certain
elements that you are unhappy with and create your own XSitePro
template.
Like all
features of XSitePro 2, this process is very simple, yet
powerful - it saves you a lot of time and a stack of
money.
